Post Ben Smith off on a Sabbatical ?
NZ press outlooking a sabbatical for Ben Smith and he'll miss some NZ Tests ...

What is this NZ Press on the subject

Absolutely everyone is fine with it (even talkback radio). He's had concussions before this inner ear thing, it's the best for his rugby career and his life after rugby.

He's only going to miss the EoYT and some SR.

Many people were skeptical about these sabbaticals initially but every one one has had a successful outcome. Most Kiwis understand they are good for our senior players.

Injury sensitive versions the wisest.

He's served NZ well, better than most. If anyone doesn't like it they can fudge off.
It opens the door for JB to get some game time, he's probably going to be the FB come 2019.

He was going down after collisions or jump catches almost every second game. How much of the issue is his ear issues and how much concussion, I spose him his doctor and possibly coaches know. Unlike the Carter and McCaw Ben is has deffinately got the head injury and other factors to sort. Almost all rugby wise kiwis want him to have this, some starting now.

He's right up there in first few names on the list, hence his sabbatical support along with the concerns.
