Bit messy this one! West will get slaughtered for that gift he gave. Otherwise his kicks have been pretty good.
Is Luatua a blue for the whole season? I didn't know he was still in NZ. :D
Where's SBWs? Ranger?

Cheers.
Rebs not the reds :)
West was alright I thought.
Ranger.........silly man.
Ioane doing his blackness chances no harm.
Pulu a monster addition to the blues, looking forward to watching them play this year with him pulling the strings. Still have SBW to come back as well.
Good start to the season for the young blues. Rebels in for a world of hurt if they don't sort their shit out! Canes for them next week.

Yep great start for Blues

Finally looks like they have a decent front row (depth)
Locks were OK too

SBWs 4 more weeks I think

Yep Pulu was awesome, he'll be fighting hard for the third halfback spot.

Iaone, Reiko was very good, gees the back three for NZ will be hard, he may push more now for a outright centre spot, the local games will be awesome.
Shit the blues centre combo is so competitive, Moala, Reiko (who I think just cemented 13) and Ranger.

Akira Ioane no 8, disappointed me a little, with Luatua leaving it really opens up a back up 6-8 behind Kaino and Squire. Your Japanese no 8 (Tongan I think) for Rebels out played him, Akira needs to mongrel and muscle (hard yards I mean) up a bit. Saying that backrow played ok, Akira, Luatua and the blond 7.

I only watched first half last night so was a little worried.

West had a good game too, for him.
Steven Bachops boy looked a little out of his league

Luatua played well. Akira to me, seems like a bully who could get away with shit growing up because he was huge. Now he's surrounded by big, fit, healthy pro players he isn't as big and good as he thinks he is. He always looks a bit overweight to me but some big lads just look that way. Reiko didn't only put his foot down for the blues 13, he's gotta be in for a shout next to ALB this test season. It's only one game but we are on the market for centers.

After my Luatua flag raising, I wouldn't say he was great, but did his job, yep re Akira, he didn't turn up for 7's either. the back up for Squire/Kaino/Read needs to really grab their chances, with no Vito..
Possibly Elliott Dickson or Brad Shields..

I always thought Vito was primed to be a long lasting AB but he never seemed to do enough in the eyes of the selectors. He was absolutely massive for Wellington.
Akira does silly off the ball shit and has that temper that will cost his team points. So much potential.......
Luatua had a good first up game I reckon. Looks a bit unfit but like Akira, maybe that's just the way he is. :dontknow:

I reckon you "big kid in the playground" think goes for both Luatua and Akira, and yeah both don't look as fit as they should. The pros turn up ready to go at the start if the year - they might not be match fit but they are as lean as they can get and ready to go.

I reckon Pulu will make the biggest difference for the Blues this year. He's class and I always rated him the best Chiefs 9. His game last night made West look like a decent 10...miracle!

Ioane looked damn good. It's not often you see a star so young, I reckon this guy could have one of those Lomu type breakout years where you just can't ignore him.

Blues looked sharp - good to see.
