As is customary after every tournament, a Dream Team is chosen, with two South Africans - Seabelo Senatla and Werner Kok - cracking the nod.

Senatla, World Rugby's Sevens Players of the Year, was also named Player of the Tournament after finishing top scorer with 55 points (11 tries) in Dubai.

Despite losing in the final, three Fijians - captain Osea Kolinisau, Jerry Tuwai and Setareki Bituniyata - were included, as well as England’s Ruaridh McConnochie and Welshman Ethan Davies.

He's a good un, no question.

I won't bore you with the WRU's page of praise, or the Western Mail's.

All tickets for Cape Town sevens are sold out!
50 000 per day

If one bear in mind the 15 men game is at present banned from presenting any major rugby event due to lack of meeting the transformation target (quota %) under Meyer
It's unbelievable how much revenue saru and the govt will be losing 2023 by playing politics in sport

Wales becoming a big player in Sevens. The previous Blitzbok coach Paul Treu coaching the Kenyans.
SA bt nz semis and England bt Scotland
Fiji bt USA for 5-th
Blitzboks against England in the final
Kyle Brown Blitzb fetcher playing in the hooker position off against kiwis serious knee injury. Still Kwagga Smit (the Babaas and Lions sa openside flank) avail for the final. Normally he comes on as replacement for Brown halftime. Newcomer Ruhan Nel impressed and the Steval Puma cc centre Rosko Specman fantastic try from his own 22 in the semis.
Great crowd! sa support

Scotland looked good...we are improving but the Sais look like the best team though they did get mauled by the ABs.

"Cape Town - Seabelo Senatla will play in two more World Rugby Sevens tournaments before he turns his attention to 15s and a season of Super Rugby with the Stormers.

That should be enough time for him to become the leading try scorer in South Africa's Sevens history. :thumbright:

Senatla, still just 23-years-old, has scored 172 tries for the Blitzboks and finds himself just seven behind Fabian Juries, who has 179."
