Post Patrick Tuipolotu - Positive Drug Test
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all- ... -drug-test

Quote:
The Blues lock returned a positive sample for a substance on WADA's banned list following a routine test in November while on the All Blacks' end-of-year tour.

In a joint statement issued by New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and the New Zealand Rugby Players Association (NZRPA), Tuipulotu was said to be surprised by the result and "working hard to identify the source of the specified substance."

Tuipulotu returned home a game early from the All Blacks' tour, due to what was described as "personal reasons."

Even now, media are being cautioned that the situation remains of a deeply personal nature and to proceed in a sensitive fashion.

"New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and the New Zealand Rugby Players Association (NZRPA) can confirm that, in November 2016, they were notified that a doping control sample provided by Patrick Tuipulotu had, reportedly, revealed the presence of a Specified Substance listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's 2016 Prohibited List," the joint statement read.

It went on to say Tuipulotu was provisionally suspended "pending resolution of this matter."

The statement concluded by saying neither NZR for the NZRPA could make any further comment while the process was ongoing.

That doesn't explain why the All Blacks said Tuipulotu left the end-of-year tour for "personal reasons" and why the Blues used the same phrase last week to describe the lock's absence from their environment.

If he's juicing then *fupp* this guy and kick him from the ABs for good. If they've used "personal reasons" to cover up him juicing then *fupp* Steve Tew - he should lose his job. Only thing worse than a juicer is a system that covers for one.

If he's tested positive for weed or some other recreational drug he's an idiot, suspend him, but really no big deal to me.

Questionss spring to mind
1. Why was he covered up?

Blues weren't particular doing well with him in the team but the ABs did well except Ireland.

2. Was he given or did he used himself performance enhancing drugs only before AB games ?

He was tested positive before France

Cant see how it can be performance related, as they are quoting compassionate reasons for possibe no ban.

He should just do what Ben Barba did in the NRL, just switch codes and he'll be grand. :occasion5:

Even if Tuipulotu has an entirely innocent explanation and is exonerated, the damage to the All Blacks has already been done.

What damage? It's just more media *b@ll@cks* isn't it? Or at least it's not known what has happened so might as well forget about it until then.

If he's caught doping it's bad for the ABs and looks terrible on management if it's been covered up. If it's something else that is being dealt with via court or whatever then let the normal process do it's thing. No drama for the ABs.

There are laws, there are privacy issues, the ABs can't flout those (and tell everyone) just because he plays rugby. It'll all come out somewhere - I'm sure Justic already knows what's going on.
