Apparently....To be formalised 27 Dec ...Noves and main coaching staff to be sacked ....rumour has it Brunel currently Bordeaux Coach will take over and that Galthié Toulon Coach, will assist him.

Brunel was previously Italy and Perpignan coach and whilst a good technical coach is light years away from an effective International standard, from memory he's 63 yrs old.

Galthié had some success at Stade F before leaving rugby for a while, returned to coach Montpelier and was sacked by Altrad....acrimonious departure that went to Industrial Tribunal which Galthié won. He has just come back to coach Toulon who have an iffy record since he took over.

Not quite all, FFR President Laporte who has sacked Noves is currently under formal examination for a business relationship with billinaire Altrad that suggests that Altrad was given preferential, treatment that contravenes the regulations.

The total does indict french rugby and seemingly commits it to continued 2nd class doldrums.

France has started to commit to International rugby in a much more positive way, seems that they shouldn't have bothered

Apparently Azema (clermont) and Collazo (la Roc) turned. down the Asst Coach jobs.

Brunel is a long term associate of President Laporte.

and here's the rub ... Coaches ( not sure if this applies to Brunel too) can return to their Clubs between periods of Internationals !!!!

Laporte has been the one to insist on more emphasis on the International game and has implemented increased release and rest periods etc and now he unleashes this farce.

Important people in french rugby already voicing their dismay as well as their disgust at the treatment to Noves ...who was told of the confirmation of his sacking by the Press.

He and his team are expected to claim 2 - 3 million euros in compensation.

The irony is that Laportes open conflict with Club Rugby importance in french rugby is now likely to further enforce it's popularity.

Remember too Laporte is currently under examination for business and administration impropriety in a business relationship with Mop billionaire owner Altrad.

He had a successful coaching period in the re emergence of Stade Francais.

Laporte previously coached France e.g 2007 W Cup and is largely blamed by many for extinguishing the traditional flair from their game.

He was also Minister of Sport under the Sarkosy Govt,

He achieved much success with Toulon and their Euro victories.

His business interests have been thesubject of some tribunals, ...

Now largely unpopular with the french public and tghis is going to erode further?

Brunel has been announced but the Asst Coaches has been delayed until 17/18 January ... that should help the motivation all round with impending 6 Nations.

Under the contracts in being the 3 sacked coaches could claim 2 - 3 m compensation.

However, Laporte is now claiming ineptitude and justifiable sacking and that route could exempt him from compensation and, at least, a long delay whilst it would go to the equivalent of unfair dismissal to the Industrial Tribunal.

There were informed of dismissal under this charge by recommended letter.

This is going to dour the public and Press mood even further.

Seems that the better coaches in the Top14 want nothing to do with the new Laporte/Brunel set up and only Bruno the Lyon forwards Coach has accepted a role there!? Laporte wanted a consortium of assistance after he failed to negotiate a regular presence.

Saving grace will be some return of prime internationals that Noves didn't have during the AIs and no incidence of 3 internationals in 7 days either
