Post Central Contracts for France
New FFR President Laporte is to fulfill his pre election pledge to implement Central Contracts as soon as possible
Announced after yesterday's match.

Light blue touch paper..

Laporte has always courted some controversy as Fra Coach, Minister of Sport, Fir of Toulon Rugby and several business affairs. Some changes of guises there!

Could get interesting

What a change in direction that is, as the FFR look to put 40 players on Central Contracts. The reaction from the clubs should be entertaining. I hope Laporte has checked this is ok with Boudjellal before making such a move.

11 of the 14 teams to date have signed not to negotiate with FFR and LNR will represent them...

This is the power play, Laporte wants to nullify LNR control

Boudjellal supports the move cos the FFR will pick up a lot of the hit and insurance but he wants increased foreign quota to increase (ie nullifying the JIFF), squad limits are currently limited to 32 pro contracts + specials and there are increased limits on # of french players :kermit: :kermit: .

Rumours abound over Louis Picamoles going back to Montpellier on a Central Contract, and the outgoing CEO of Saints isn't happy about it. Still two years left on his contract.

This has been in process for some time (1st post 27/2)

Boudjellal is in favour of Laporte's position!

It's all about LNR/FFR positioning for the new Agreement 2019.

FFR Intl release and significantly more advantaged general conditions have already been implemented, some compensation involves salary plan increase.

It will run and the Presidents position will be key, currently only Boudjellal and one other support Laporte.

Reported here too but suggestion is that Saints are prepared to nrgotiate.

Altrad owns Mop and money does talk ;)

No, look at first post, central contracts have been floated for some time and is old news

Also Boudjellals position has been misinterpreted.

Quite ironic that a CEO within PRL is complaining as above, when they are part of what has created the football model within rugby. I wonder if he voted to keep Altrad out of Gloucester. :D
