Superb games by Wales [again], Wales ahead of Nigeria, Jamaica, Kenya and Scotland in the medal table and P4P way ahead of England.

TeamGB won 8 out of the 16 Gold medals on offer (England 6, Wales 2) plus a stack of silver and bronze, 23 medals in total. Superb effort by all.

There is no Team GB (& bits of NI) in the Commonwealth Games
Are you creating your own medal table and filling it with Team Oceana, Team Africa, Team Indian Sub-continent etc. :D

The Commonweath Games is the opportunity to wave the Draig Goch and hear HWFN you can always get out your Union Jack and stand for GSTQ at the Olympics and Winter Olympics.

Despite the protestations of the pedants

Oz outright winners with 198 medals with 80 gold, well done them

Wales 7th with 36 medals. 10 Gold, 12 Silver, 14 bronze. Our best event was the cycling with 6 medals

combined TeamGB had 228 medals with 65 golds

To be pedantic the national teams you're insisting should be lumped together and whooped up would be, to build on the official NI excluding "TeamGB" brand name -
Teams GB.

Why is combining UK medals a good thing anyway. Based on medals per capita Scotland, Northern Ireland and especially England dragged us down and of the four UK countries only the per capita performance of Cymru was ahead of Australia's.

However as a lumper of countries you might be interested to know that Aus goes in front again if it's part of TeamOceania's :naka: per capita performance.

You don't seemed to have realised that it was not an Olympics type games. Nor was it any sort of World Championship, for which by the way your medal totals would be wrong as well as irrelevant.

Of the major international multi sports events the Commonwealth Games is the only one where Cymru competes on an equal footing with dozens of actual nation states . Whether they're big ones like Canada or tiny ones that are not much more than a coral atoll.
Given that, it seems like a waste to dilute the once every four years opportunity to celebrate and promote Cymru with a red white and blue distraction.

We differ in what we like about the Commonwealth Games. The discussion we've had gave me an opportunity to present the case for why we shouldn't choose to see the CG through a red white and blue lens.
In contrast you didn't put forward any argument for why we should or even why you like doing that. That's your choice, as is interpreting the argument I put forward as just me being annoyed.
