Having played a high level of cricket myself, it is basically a 2 man sport, the bowler against the batsman.

Batting is all about concentration and discipline, and having young players switch from 20-20 to County Cricket and back causes bad habits. Coaching isn't the issue, it's talent and application.

well, Delange hit 90 and needed 4 to win, and he it a full toss straight to long on and was out...good finish but no middle order again.

The bowling is adequate, the batting is the issue

The bowling is actually very good. The batsmen are young and inexperienced and it’s showing.

Bowling not top drawer as Somerset get 372-7 off 50 overs

It’s a very poor week or so and it looks like we just have T20 to play for.

Middlesex 65 for 0 after 8 overs, maybe 350+ is the new norm for the 50 over game.

Selman and Donald, 30 % skill ; 70 % luck !!! Top players have those figures reversed. Ingram and Lloyd batted well but could have afforded more caution to get the victory.

This has got the makings of the worst season in living memory for Glamorgan.

Early days John. This is a very young side. It will take time.

Glamorgan has been a reasonable 1 day side in recent past, but it does not look good right now.

The fact is many counties would be very pleased to have a line up of Selman, Murphy, Marsh, Lloyd, Donald and Salter in any format of the game. Do you remember when Cosgrove played for us; only occasionally did he produce a big score, now, some years later, and captain of Leicestershire he is constantly producing match winning scores. As Pearcey says we are a young unit, and I am sure that soon Glamorgan will come good. In Hugh Morris, Maynard and Croft we have a back bone second to none, let us hope the improvement starts later today.
