Post Re: F1 in 2018
Hamilton very unlucky, well placed in a comfortable lead and took a relatively early tyre change to achieve a Ferrari split beforetheir tyre change ...then ....Haas buggered up a tyre change and there was an enforced 8 lap safety car which allowed Vettel a late tyre chsnge and to come out just in front of Hamilton on much newer tyres and kept his place.

Haas went well at the begining but !!!

Red Bull disappointed and Alnso split them at the finish.

Another head to head Vettel and Hamilton beckons with Merc looking the better set up.

Brilliant for Ferrari.

Bottas had a poor weekend.

Why do I continue to watch? I liked the new colours on some of the cars. I wanted McLaren to do well. They can tart it up as much as they like but it's all over by lap two barring catastrophe or if it's wet. All Grand Prix should be driven in the wet.

Vettel wins fom Bottas by a whisker ... his tyres just about lasted out.
Hamilton got 3rd after starting from 9th with a 5 pos penalty.

Raikkonen had a pit problem in the final laps and the Red Bulls failed v early...Verstappen punctured in a bump with Hamilton and Ticciardo rngine failed.

The star was young Gasly who got 4th de n his 7th GP and in a Torro Rosso normally poor placed car.

So that's two on the trot for Vessel...ugh ;)

It was a good race.

Hamilton was able to pass 3 opponents in one corner and his ability to run the car after the bump with a crazy Max Verstappen early on was impressive. The Merc is a tough car.

The stewards said it was a racing incident but Max blamed Hamilton.

The Wunderkinder is now making novice mistakes and his ability is exceeded by his optimism.

Ferrari continue to have problems in the pit.

They get punished at last!!

Quote:
Ferrari mechanic Francesco Cigorini suffered a broken leg when he was run over by Kimi Raikkonen during a pit stop in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Ferrari's pit system showed a green light to Raikkonen, indicating he could exit the pits, despite mechanics not having changed his left rear wheel.

Cigorini suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula in his left leg and was taken to hospital.

Quote:
Ferrari have been fined 50,000 euros by race officials for an unsafe release

Incident packed race ...

Poor start Hamilton
Safety car had influence
Smart tyre change by Red Bull put Verstappen and Ricciardo in contention.
Verstappen naughty again 10 point penalty
Vettel impacted
Ricciardo superb race!
Bottas drove well but Ricciardo took it Raikonnen in and out of race

Final

Ricciardo
Bottas
Raikkonen
Hamilton
Verstappen

Vettel 8

Exciting race!!

Well done Red Bull!!

Verstappen has to curb his impetuous behaviour ... undeniably talented but needs to temper his agression?

A superb race and a host of mistakes to goggle at.

Mercedes didn't bring Hamilton into the pit under the safety car and that was really poor as the eventual winner was the beneficiary of great decisions by his team.

The boy genius from last year smacked into the race leader but Vetelle forgave his attacker - as he was in a good mood I guess.

Team cars banging into one another as well ...

F1 is terribly uninteresting, isn't it?

Well, no.

:D

All are very focussed and somewhat self centred ..

Hamilton, Vettel, Bottas, Raikkonenn, Alonso, .....not the most 'attractive' personalities...

Ricciardo a shining light combination of excellent personality, popularity and very significant skills?

Verstappen yet to form a character aspect off the track.

Red Bull always seem to be the most overall attractive 'package'

Whatever, the skills and daring of these racers is formidable.

I confess to being a fan
