Could be 4 overs left plus 8.

Warner is changing his gloves ..

Here comes an onslaught?

101 for none .... ugly innit?

Close of play saw the winners at 114 for no wicket off 34 overs.

The winners need another 50 odd runs tomorrow morning.

Steve Smith is a bit of a phenomenon - his innings changed the game.
Well done Aussies. Hope the Poms can win the 2nd to keep the series interesting...

The Australians cantered to victory without losing a wicket - 173 for nowt.

Moeen Ali's injury proved disastrous in the end as the OZ spinner ripped out wickets in that second innings disaster for England.

When my boys Sri Lanka (Wales has not got test status) hammered Australia 3-0 in a test series last year I thought England bound to beat such a poor team like Australia, but not in the first test anyway, the English got embarrassed by 10 wkts.
:binky:

A very negative performance by England. They should have tried harder to get 2 nd innings wickets; had they done so the success would have had a knock on effect for the Adelaide test. As it stands Australia now field four batsmen with runs under their belt.

This second test is over.

OZ crawled to a mere 442 for 8 and England are now suffering.

They've reached 150 but they've lost 7 wickets getting there.

I thought a stay in bed might help them - it did not.

Update, England need 85 to avoid the follow on.

Go on, watch the quick England scoring - almost a run a ball at the minute.

Oz bowler at 6'6" bounces the 6'5" "batsman" Overton.

New bowler - and a stupid bouncer is called a wide.

This eighth-wicket partnership is now the highest of the innings.

Almost 40 runs ....

207 for 8 - Woakes out for 36, that's 1 less than Cooky.

Overton 36*

218 for 8.

Broad gets bounced and bounced and - bounced.

Shock.
