Post Re: RIP, Raging Bull
Great film.

Sad story like many of that era ....spent some time in prison ...tragic deaths in family etc ...but a somewhat happy ending in later life

Sugar Ray Robinson was my idol, ...record for winning back world titlesafter defeat.

I rember listening to his fights v Randolph Turpin with my father, Turpin another sad story...

Best fight I ever watched was the brutal fight Sugar Ray R v Carmen Bassilio ...toe to toe, ...if you get a chance to watch it ....do ;)

I loved boxing up until Cassius Clay and then multiple belts and multiple weights ruined it. I used to go to the fights...Coney Beach ...never forget London v Richardson there and Winstone at Ninian Parketcetc

Always the gangsters influence ..biggest story of which was the Carnera circus ...so bent, ...it was rumoured that Sharkey had to knock himself out for Carnera to win etc :D

Dont get me started.... ;)
