Post 3rd Test against the Windies
A cruel day for Jimmy Anderson as he only took two wickets.

He beat the bat 6/8/10 times and one dolly was dropped in the slips.

England took all 10 Windies wickets and then lost 4 themselves before the gloom closed in.

The rain is due again tomorrow ...

:(

Even with the poor weather forecast over the next few days we may still get a positive result either way with 14 wickets falling on day one.
This is not going to easy to bat on in cloudy, damp, overcast conditions.

This is not Ashes preparation stuff !!! We can only hope that it rains like hell for four days to save us further embarrassment !!

Stoneman and Westley must go and the batting line up should be :

Cook
Root
Ali.
Bairstow
Stokes
Malan
Butler
Woakes
Roland Jones
Broad
Anderson.

I honestly do not know where the remaining 6 or 7 tour party are coming from. It will not be difficult finding back up bowlers, but the batting is a very different matter

England look to be heading for a win.

Jimmy took 7 for 42 and the target is fairly small.

Henry Blofield's last session.....met him when I played against the MCC many years ago in Latin America. He umpired both our games, and wore a pink cravat

Blowers was the final link to the great days of TMS. Arlott,CMJ,Mosey,Trueman, Bailey,Johnston, Frindall etc etc. Sad that they have all passed away. I remember Arlott's last ever commentary to this day. Poignant memories of summer.
