Speith is at 11 under and looks to be in control.

He still fluffed a few shots yesterday and has real pressure coming up as Kuchar looks solid at 8 under and 3 or 4 other North Americans playing well.

Our contingent have subsided quietly to 2 under at best.

11 ENG Ross Fisher -2 shooting a 66 yesterday, the best by a Brit.
11 NI Rory McIlroy -2
11 SCO Richie Ramsay -2
11 ENG Ian Poulter -2

15 US Rickie Fowler -1
15 SWE Alex Noren -1
15 ENG Richard Bland -1

Gods with Speith again...got lucky again with crowd stopping the ball and it turned out fine for a par... + 3 for this round...

Going to the wire

(another 63 earlier ...Chinese yung player)

Meanwhile McIllroy loses his ball with spectators around, maybe the person who took it could ask him to autograph it for them after the match :D

Speith won't beat himself, unlike Rory and others. ;)
Golf is more than hitting it 350 yards.

Think you are going to regret that one David he's in big trouble now with another wayward drive and rules books out big time ... this is incredible ...maybe two drops and then another line of sight .... crazy ....huge delay and they've been warned 3 times for slow play and now it's stopped big time.

Entertaining though ... :D

Of course, he may still win it ...

That was an unbelievable 9 holes!!

They're already engraving the trophy.

Well played Speith, that incredible hole turned the fortunes.

I still can't believe it

Still scratching my head over that ruling on 14, but the rules are there to be taken advantage of (just like rugby).

Feel for Kuchar, a decent guy, who didn't get any luck, (or favourable rulings), but showed a lot of class, someone Spieth could learn from. ;)

Rory played well and held himself together after that lost ball on 15.

Spieth played a hit and hope shot after the line of sight ruling and got incredibly lucky.

Here's a video of his extraordinary play - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/40698276

Kuchar had to be gutted as Spieth looked to be down and out at one point. Then the Golden Boy soared away again.

The Open produced great tension and brilliant play day after day, you can't ask for more than that.

Well said.

Speith's thinking, calmness and action at that hole was incredible!!
As the commentators said ...many would've gone back to the tee or taken a hack or looked for most amenable drop....

When he started marching away, looking near big transport lorries, playing a clever game about movable objects, line of sight and almost threatening to move the lorry convoy was such quick thinking. Then playing a combination of the intricate rules to his advantage and in the context of the final holes of the Open was astounding .....

Then ....playing a wonderful long shot and saved a bogey

Meanwhile Kuchar had been contemplating a doable birdie for 20 mins which he subsequently missed!

Speith, who had been all over the place and somewhat fortunate, then gets 5 shots under par in 4 holes.

If someone wrote that script it would be binned with laughter.

I'll never forget it!

Over to the PGA, and my money is on Matsuyama.

Despite the undeniable talent, Rory has not been a factor and he needs to work more on his game and less in the gym and on social media. Some of his iron shots would be bad for me, let alone a top 5 World player. :D

Need a re-set maybe..

The current game and players underline how good Tiger Woods was.

You picked him when he was already leading the field?
