DP squared up but survives well.

R-J in to Maharaj - calm, cool, then he plays a shocking waft ....

Moeen runs in to Maharaj, last over before Tea.

Inside edge? Whatever, it hit the keeper on the shoulder and went away.

180 for 6.

DP to leg ....

Maharaj facing ...... the last ball is charged and knocked away and a 3 for 25 from Moeen sees England looking at a 3-1 win.

South Africa now flat as a pancake. 182 for 6 off 55 overs.

Moeen is a destroyer ....

I am not very convinced by England, bowling looks better, batting at nos 2,3,5 looks iffy

Yeah, inconsistency is the major issue, great in parts crap in parts.

Great to win the series but there were moments of crapulence

England have huge problems with the batting. Too much tolerance was given to Keaton Jennings who would have lost his place in the Glamorgan 2nd X1 let alone England. The replacements brought in for the West Indies series will not be tested adequately in preparation for the Ashes tour.

The odd thing is that established players in the squad have experience in opening the batting, mainly Joe Root and Moheen Ali. England cannot continue relying on the all round tail to rescue them. In Australia the line up should see Root open with Cook, and the man currently in form to come in first wicket down. Josh Butler should fill a mid order spot, and be used as a wicket keeper in the event of Bairstow occupying the crease for a very long period.

I am disappointed in Dawid Malan claiming that the tide had changed for him just because he had scored a half century. Cook and Root beat the West Indies single handed.
