Oh, Great.

I hadn't got out of the house before Cook went and Jennings straight after him.

It's all my fault.

Sob.

Wickets

Cook 49 Getting so far across his stumps in a bid to combat Ravi Jadeja, Alastair Cook flirts at a delivery that is miles down the leg side, clipping it straight to leg slip

Jennings c+b 54 walking shot - horrible.

Root 6
Bairstow 1

Fall of Wickets

103-1 and Captain Cook is gone.
110-2 Jennings goes after a horrible shot on the walk

126-3 Root
129-4 Bairstow

192-5 Moeen Horrible way to get out, crazy shot.

193-6 Stokes
196-7 Dawson
200-8 Rashid
207-9 Broad
207-10 Ball

A bit of humble pie is in order.

:(

From the BBC

Quote:
England suffered one last batting collapse to slip to an innings-and-75-run defeat on the final day of the fifth Test against India in Chennai.

Behind by 282 on first innings, England were taken to 103-0, but then lost four wickets for 26 runs.

They looked to have been steadied until Moeen Ali played an awful swipe at Ravindra Jadeja, who took 7-48.

It began a slump of six wickets for 15 runs, with England all out for 207 to give India a 4-0 series win.

England have now lost six of the past eight Tests, seven of which have come on a gruelling tour of Bangladesh and India, where alien conditions have highlighted familiar weaknesses in the batting and bowling of spin.

They do not play another Test until July.

Woeful. It didn't help that the team played precious little warm up cricket before embarking on this series which amounted to 5 Tests inside six weeks which is ridiculous.

I thought this lot of dynamic young guns were supposed to be the future of England cricket? Agressive, innovative batting, athletic fielding, etc, etc.. What happened?

Seems to me that England got to being a bit overhyped after winning two or three test series against countries who were/are on a severe downward slope. A dose of reality now that they have come up against a class side playing at home.

Be interesting to see how England cope with the Indians in England - whenever that may be.

It was only two years ago, man.

India in England in 2014

Result - England won the 5-match series 3–1

India playing in English conditions would struggle and England would win the series.
Got to say though losing the current series 4 zip is very disappointing. Plenty of work lies ahead.
