Back to Chelsea now.

Costa scored just before halftime and that's another 1-0 for the lads.

BBC - edited.

Diego Costa is the top goalscorer in the Premier League with 13 goals so far this season.

Chelsea equalled their club record as they beat Crystal Palace 1-plonk to secure their 11th successive Premier League win.

2nd place Liverpool visit Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday while 3rd-placed Arsenal meet fourth-placed Manchester City today.

Sadly, Vanker's lot and City can't both lose today, pity that.

:D

Everton 0-1 Liverpool - Mané (90'+4minutes)

1. Chelsea - 43
2. Liverpool - 37
3. Man City - 36

All have played 17 games and Chelsea now hold a genuine lead of 6 points over the best attacking side in Liverpool.

Next few games :-

Bournemouth at home 26th
Stoke City at home 31st

Spurs away 4th Jan

FA Cup 3rd Round 8th

Leicester City away 14th
Hull City away 22nd
Liverpool away 31st

Arsenal at home 4th February

That's a big week - the games on the 31st January and the 4th February will be tough.

Spurs at the beginning of January will be a cracker and the Leicester team will be either good or rubbish.

Throw in the January Sales and this is going to be an unpredictable few weeks.

SAT, 31 Dec - 2016Premier League

Chelsea 4 - 2 Stoke 2

Stoke City

Stoke scored twice, well done.

Chelsea scored 4 and hit the woodwork time and again.

The sequence of scoring was interesting :-

Chelsea - Cahill (34 minutes), Willian (57 minutes, 65minutes), Diego Costa (85 minutes).
Stoke - Wardi (46 minutes), Crouch (64 minutes).

Mark Hughes admitted Stoke attacked because it was suicide to defend and Crouch was a damn good call, but leaving Chelsea players free to run was too tough for Stoke in any case. Crouch scored at 64 minutes and Chelsea scored seconds later, direct from the restart, to re-impose themselves on a side that they could have scored 10 or a dozen goals against in truth.

Chelsea have 49 points and Liverpool are second with 43; that game against Spurs in two or 3 days looks a big, big one and Liverpool at the end of this month with Arsenal a few days after that look tough as well.

C'mon Chelsea!

It's going to be very close, I think.

What helps, Tramps, is that the following half dozen are taking points off each other, all apart from Manchester United. They have a run of 9 wins now according to the BBC.

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea - 20:00hrs Kick Off.

Arsenal scraped a last-minute draw last night with Giroud scoring in extra time and Spurs will be desperate to beat us.

Chelsea - 49 points

Arsenal - 41 points
Spurs - 39 points

It's gonna be a biggy and there may be a few drops of rain about.

Spurs did us - again. We had problems against Crouch in the previous game and more severe problems against Alli .....

Quote:
The title pacesetters were well beaten at White Hart Lane.

Spurs moved up to third place as headers from Dele Alli either side of half-time made the difference to leave Chelsea five points ahead of Liverpool in second place.

1 - Chelsea - 49 points

2 - Liverpool - 44
3 - Tottenham - 42
4 - Man City - 42
_____________
5 - Arsenal - 41
------------------
6 - Man Utd - 39
