Costa dropped as 'his head has been turned' from an offer from China of a £30M a year deal

China has alot to answer for!

A surprisingly easy win for us against last year's champions.

Ian Wright praised our brilliant play. Nice.

Leicester City 0 - 3 Chelsea (Alonso 6 min+51 min, Pedro 71 min.)

Leicester attacked every now and again but assumed the position eventually, 9 men defending and Vardy 20 yards inside his own half. They looked forlorn at the end and that was understandable as they hardly had hold of the ball long enough often enough to look like a team interested in getting a goal.

The TV commentator mention the loss to Spurs twice in the first 5 minutes and then realised that we were playing superbly.

Gabby Logan asked the awed pundits if the loss to Spurs would derail our campaign. Wrighty said, "No". Gabby stopped asking stupid questions ....

Spurs were bloody great yesterday, to be fair, and Kane is a menace.

Chelsea - 21 played and 52 points

2. Spurs - 21 and 45
3. Arsenal - 21 and 44
4. Liverpool - 20 and 44
----------------------------
5. Man City - 20 and 42
---------------------------
6. Man Utd - 20 and 39

BIG games today - Sunday, 15th January 2017

Everton v Man City at 13:30 hrs

Man Utd v Liverpool at 4pm

Hmmm, Pep Guardiola has seems to have accepted defeat in the title race.

City are now 10 points behind leaders Chelsea after a 4-nil defeat on Merseyside - the heaviest league loss in Guardiola's managerial career.

Asked if the gap was too great, a deflated Pep said: "Yes. Ten is a lot of points."

The man needs to get organised.

I'd have expected more enthusiasm and fire than that; he has a few million quid available to get some hard and abrasive defenders in the next few days. That will transform City.

Jose did his usual transformation of his side at half-time against Liverpool.

United were getting absolutely stuffed in midfield so he asked for some long ball after the interval.

It worked a treat and Klopp bitched about the change, which made I larf.

Quote:
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said Manchester United resorted to long-ball football during Sunday's 1-1 draw.

United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's header cancelled out James Milner's penalty at Old Trafford, leaving Liverpool without a win in four games.

Klopp said: "They play long balls in a wild game. We played the better football and had the better plan."

Quote:
Jose Mourinho said: "We attacked in the second half and Liverpool were the team that defended."

Mourinho added "Liverpool were happy with a point, they were clever, they took their time, they know how to play football and control the emotions of the game. They knew they would be in trouble in the final few minutes."

A 1-all draw suited Chelsea just fine.

Best tactic to beat the high press is to hit balls over the top, should have started that way imo. Not sure what klopp is moaning about with that tbh

Liverpool were by far the better side in the first half and United didn't get going at all through either key players playing like lemons and Liverpool's tactics to spoil and press United, although we had a couple of brilliant chances

United the better in the second but were very disjointed, but still managed a couple of very good chances

Pogba was dreadful, Lalalalalana was bloody brilliant I thought (did he get MotM? He should have).

its ok your coming to ours soon enough and the gap will reduce back to 4 points..... Chavski will allow us to pay football and will try to compete with us unlike united who turned into wimbledon.

Wimbledon :D (did the job on your lot in a cup final iirc)

Liverpool really showed their style sticking 10 behind the ball and pressing...

Klopp must have borrowed Jose's bus for the day... ;)

I was sure Klopp signed a centre half on loan last season to play him as an emergency striker along side Benteke...

Chelsea's next few opponents :-

Sunday 22nd January 2017 - Hull, who will fight like dogs

Saturday 28th January 2017 - FA Cup - Fourth Round - Brentford 3 pm

Tuesday 31st January 2017 - Liverpool at Anfield.

Saturday 4th February 2017 - Arsenal 12:30 KO at the Bridge

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Should be easy enough to put a committed team out this month. Liverpool will be tough - if their defence improves.

Vanker's lads will be broken if they get stuffed.

:D

Vanker's lads won with a with a late, late penalty when an offside player was accidentally twatted.

Costa had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside when he wasn't.

Chelsea have extended their lead to 8 points.

Massive crack of heads in the Chelsea game and the oppo who charged out and smashed into Cahill is seriously injured.

It sounded like the crack of doom.

Horrible, just horrible.

Liverpool scraped a draw at Anfield as Costa missed a penalty late on.

To be fair, the Liverpool goalkeeper had a goodish night after David Luiz took him by surprise..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38727326

Liverpool keeper Mignolet made amends for his first-half embarrassment when he had been caught off guard by David Luiz's superb free-kick from 25 yards.

Georginio Wijnaldum's close-range header 11 minutes after the break gave Liverpool a draw they fully deserved, ending a run of three successive home losses, two of which knocked them out of the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

However, it could have been much better for Chelsea and worse for Liverpool when Costa went to ground under challenge from Joel Matip 14 minutes from the end. Referee Mark Clattenburg pointed to the spot but Mignolet dived low to his right to save the Spain striker's spot-kick.

Roberto Firmino wasted Liverpool's two best chances, shooting high over an open goal and heading straight at Thibaut Courtois in the closing seconds.

Wonder if Klopp will get a touch line ban for screaming in the fourth officials face while nearly head butting him.
