Chelsea are losing to Man City at the moment.

A thumping goal from De Bruyne ...

Bugger.

Well, we're scoring goals again.

The defence is not good and that's cost us the championship if Man City keep on with their terrific run.

Scoring 3 against Roma in mid-week was great but conceding three was horrible. A weakness was apparent and a massive amount of space was available for almost every cross into our penalty area.

Things didn't improve much in defence yesterday and our late goals flattered us.

Yet another win this weekend, good to see.

Team of the week

Cesar Azpilicueta - defender:

It has not been the best season so far for quite possibly the best pure defender in the Premier League but Azpilicueta marshalled Chelsea’s defence to such an extent that Bournemouth did not have a chance until deep into injury-time {92nd minute}.

Quote:
"We started the season without Hazard, we had two red cards for our players, we've had injuries so we've had a lot of problems but today was a good win," said Conte.

"Our players are very honest, they want to fight."

Begovic had pulled off a fine save in the first half to deny Alvaro Morata, who also found the net only to see Cesar Azpilicueta flagged for offside.

The hosts failed to manage a shot on target until Steve Cook's effort in the 92nd minute and remain one place off the foot of the table.

Had Cesc Fabregas converted a chance late in the game, it would have given the scoreline a fairer reflection of Chelsea's dominance, but they still moved back above Arsenal on goal difference.

Chelsea face Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday and their next Premier League match sees the visit of Manchester United on Sunday, 5 November.

I just watched the Roma "highlights" again. Roma scored 3 goals again and Chelsea didn't.

The insults from the former Arsenal international and the former Man U captain were fully deserved.

The final ignominy was watching 3 Chelsea defenders trying to box in a single attacker leaving nobody in the rest of the penalty area bar the goalkeeper.

As the Cork arsehole and the Gooner agreed, "I've not seen that in years, real schoolkid's stuff".

You can't disagree.

Chelsea's "defence" was horrible

:(

A lucky win yesterday, the poorer Manchester side somehow got away with only a single goal against and then attacked in the last 10 minutes.

Good header again.

Morata seems quite good in the air.

A big loss to Chelsea as Monaco get a talented backroom man.

Thanks for the 10 years, Michael. Mr. Emenalo worked with 11 managers at Chelsea ..........

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012, 3 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cups, the League Cup and the Europa League.

Swansea needed the points but barely reached halfway at Stamford Bridge last night.

Chelsea had 20 shots and 10 of them were on target.

Swansea had 2 shots, both of which were wide.

How Swansea expect to survive I don't know - that was abject.

Their only hope was to have helpful officials last night. In truth the officials did their best and didn't have to run very far, in fact they could have used deck chairs most of the time. Just set them up level with the Swansea penalty area aaand ....... relax. :angry4: :angry4: :angry4: :angry4:

Chelsea, miraculously, only scored once.

And, as usual, Conte went apeshit when another grotesque decision finally threw him over the edge.

A cross from the right wing smacked into a defender's leg and went behind for a corner - well it should have done.

The touch judge and referee agreed on a goal kick and that was that.

Alfie Mawson trotted upfield with a smile on his face and Conte went for the officials - with a little justification perhaps.

Image

He was sent into the stands and continued his tirade.

That did it, he was sent to the dressing rooms.

Conte apologised later, of course, Chelsea managers do that. They have a lot of practice at it.

Final Score Chelsea 1 and it could have been 6 or 8 but for a brilliant display by the Swansea keeper.
