The Swans have played really well in their last three games and look nothing like relegation strugglers. They have a great chance now.
A big well done to Mike Flynn at Newport. They were 11 points off safety with 12 games to go. What an escape!

Fantastic escape from Newport, well done County.
Swans have given themselves a good chance now but there is still work for them to do.

Heard on the radio this morning that the Swansea board have bought all of the away allocation for today's game against Sunderland for the swans fans and have also given every swans fan a food voucher!

Brilliant gesture from the Swansea board that fair play to them

Remarkable game altogether - all the determination and bite that Sunderland showed in the previous game had ebbed away.

Only Defoe looked like a man trying to win.

The Swans got that early headed goal when the Sunderland keeper goofed and it was plain sailing most of the game.

Shearer was scathing, look at this :-

Quote:
Former Newcastle striker Shearer said the hosts' display was "pathetic" and fans should demand a refund.

"There is no way that team will get back up into the Premier League," he said on the BBC's Match of the Day.

Manager David Moyes has said he will remain in charge despite relegation, but striker Jermain Defoe looks set to leave.

Shearer said Moyes and club owner Ellis Short had been "deservedly" criticised this season, but the players - booed off at half-time and full-time against Swansea - should also be blamed.

"In the first half they were absolutely disgraceful - there was a complete lack of effort," said Shearer.

"It's the last home game of the season, they've been relegated, and you'd think they'd give their fans something to shout about.

"It was lazy. There was nothing in their performance at all.

"I'm surprised the fans lasted so long - they should be asking for their money back, it was that bad."
