Why can't Wales play the USA themselves? Wales and SA play each other all the time, whereas Wales haven't played the USA for many years, it'd help grow the game in the USA, and moreover it'd be a far more opportune moment to give Welsh second-stringers and rookies a match out than a match against the Springboks would.

I don't think that seeing their team get mullered would be a good incentive. Whereas seeing some top tier rugby may spark an interest.

Ireland vs New Zealand in America kind of makes sense as it is half way between pretty much and there is a lot of peopld with Irish herirage. I am not sure why we are playing South Africa in America as it isn't any where near either.

We're stopping off on the way to Argentina.

On another tack I think that the N Hemp should nuture relations with SA, out of acorns oak trees grow and. SA alignment with the N Hemp would be great!

Kick in the teeth for Welsh rugby supporters; if they must play away from the P.S. why not do so in Colwyn Bay.

If Wales put out their second-string against the US, the scoreline would not be so skewed. They could then leave the first-string to play Argentina themselves.

That kind of negates the reason for a warmup game.

Because we would put 70 points on them. The second team would put 50 on them.

Americans invented their own games to ensure they can call themselves world champions. ;)

Post Re: WA VS SA in DC RFK
The Wales 2nd string only put 50 point past Uruguay at the World Cup and the US are a fair bit better than Uruguay. They are probably just a shade behind Georgia, who the Wales 2nd string were only able to beat thanks to Leon Brown getting a headache at a critical moment. So confidently asserting that we would put 70 points past the US is just nonsense.

I don't see the point of this match. It's not going to be very interesting to casual fans - neither us nor the Springboks are the global brand that NZ are, and the Americans aren't obsessed with the Welsh like they are with the Irish. I can't see the crowd being very good and it will all be established rugby fans, not curious neutrals.

We should be playing the US team. Or, alternatively, given we're going down to Argentina, we shoudl play Uruguay, as they're in our WC group. Either of those would do a lot more to grow World rugby than a meaningless fixture against a team we play every year
