Josh Lewis formerly of Ebbw Vale and Llanelli has joined the Gwent region.

Yeah, fly-half is one position of which the Dragons have loads - Henson, O'Brien, Jones, Robson... (The fact that none of them are international standard, including nowadays Henson, is another matter).

I think that Henson's career is ending with a whimper - unless he bulks up he's not going to play.

Hmmm.

Maybe not bulk up but be more agressive

Dragons have to move past gav... but I can’t see how a semi pro who has played little professional rugby is the answer. I’m all for picking Welsh players but wasn’t this an opportunity to look at a decent NWQ player

Keep Welsh players down that's the answer

Agreed. Gav is earning his keep but isn't a medium-term option let alone a long-term one and the drop-off when he isn't available for whatever reason is steep. Lewis didn't look out of his depth playing for Bath and deserves a chance at a region, but is a punt rather than a first team pick and isn't obviously better than O'Brien or Robson. They need a decent fly-half who can play most games and is a clear improvement on what they already have. That means (assuming they don't pinch one from another region) either

-Priestland (probably won't want to come back, and is a few caps short of not needing to)
-Tovey (likely has washed his hands of the Dragons)
-NWQ

It's not like we don't have plenty of Welsh qualified flyhalves at the other regions, we can afford to have a NWQ at the Drags.
