Post Alun Wyn Jones out injured for six weeks
A scan revealed that, while he won't require surgery for his shoulder injury, he still needs a rehabilitation period of around six weeks. He'll definitely miss the Ospreys' big matches against Stade Francais and Leinster, though it is hoped he'll be back for the Scarlets match and whichever Challenge Cup and/or Pro 12 semi-finals the Ospreys reach.

Not good that he is injured, but just looking at him you can see he needs a rest period.

6 weeks from now is around Saturday 6th May when O's play the Scallies - seems unlikely to me he'd be fully fit (and definitely not match fit) for that one?
After which there are how many games left he could play this season?

Given the wealth of 2nd row quality and options that Gats has to choose from, this has to put his potential place on the Lions tour in doubt?
And from a Wales perspective IMO that would be no bad thing - I think a good long rest now, followed by a proper pre-season would do him the world of good.

Depending on how well the Ospreys perform, he could potentially participate in a Challenge Cup final and a Pro 12 semi-final and final. But yes, he needs a rest from Test rugby.

I am reliably informed that the Ospreys are looking at a rest period of eight weeks so not a lot of rugby to be played after that.

Six weeks is what the official reports say, where's your source?
