Good decision by him.

He gets enough unwarranted and ignorant derision from the masses, it will only increase when Wales aren't performing to the unrealistic and embarrassing expectations of our 'great' supporting public.

Wales loss

Suppose he can do without the nonsense. Shame, though.

Is this confirmed yet then?
Done a great job as Wales captain IMO, but I agree with Woodward that at this point in his career this may be in both Warburton and Wales' best interests:

His form has been poor for some time, can only be good for him as expectations will be higher than I think he will archive in the forth coming 6N.

Indian smoke signals say he's decided it's time to go

I've always thought that AWJ should be Captain. He seems to be a more natural captain because he appears to be more demonstrative and vocal on the pitch. That's just my perception

Biggar for me. He has a certain style of handling the ref, which others struggle with. :D

Biggar will get himself sent off and give opposition more penalties so no.

I was thinking Bigger, best placed as he should be controlling the game from 10, but I have my doubts on mental toughness.

He seems to exhibit a very competitive nature, and come across as intelligent. Would be my choice over AWJ as the latter is beginning to run out of gas.

I agree and nobody can doubt his capability to lead from the front too, a natural leader..

Ref above posts ... it will be short served and should have been implemented some time ago.

I'm iffy about Biggar sometimes ott on the pitch and who know how long he'll be 10?

One of the stipulations on picking a captain is whether they will play every game. I think AWJ is the best candidate.

AWJ for me

However I do wonder whether in a professional environment where players are much more competent than the general public, that a vocal and hands on captain is tantamount to the micro manager, or the bloke who emails everyone telling them what a great job their doing, in other walks of life

Wales loss

When he first signed that dual contract with the WRU I don't think I have ever heard such bile and filth from certain quarters ever directed at a Welsh Rugby captain. And I lived through the "ET phone home" period
At least then the critics in the crowd had the guts to say it out loud and not hide behind the anonymity of social media
