Marler has struck again. I thought 'he could now handle stress'?

I caught the tail end of the Harlequins game against Northants and rubbed my eyes in disbelief.

Adam Jones smashing his opponent? Hello?

Quote:
Harlequins Director of Rugby John Kingston talking on BT Sport: -

"The performance today was outstanding. There was a real intensity to our game and we didn't get the rewards we probably deserved.

"There were some fairly frank exchanges at the start of the week. We celebrated two weeks ago and we challenged each other after last week against Wasps.

"Adam Jones was not expecting to play loosehead prop or 75 minutes but he did it for the team. He was excellent today."

WOW!!

Adam monstered his oppo and looked a match winner.

I didn't realise that he could handle 40 minutes, never mind 75 minutes.

What's he doing?

Less food intake, diuretics?

I think Adam's main problem was the change of the scrum rules. Fitness played a part but there were other factors

I do think he was coasting a bit at the time as well. I watched him play live a few times for the blues and for wales and was just lacking energy

As well as being a ferocious scrummager a prime Adam was also a great line put forward, a good defender and excellent at clearing out. All that started to go out the window plus the rule change happened towards the end of his careers

I think you are right. I feel he lost motivation when the rules changed.
